This is the man-tastic studio update you've all been waiting for!
Waiting makes everything extra special. That's why we have spent the last six months waiting. Six months ago, after the studio session, someone said "Awesome job you guys! You know what you should do next? You should totally sit on these gems and wait for six months."
So that's what happened. That AND a lot of other stuff. People disappeared under mysterious circumstances. I'm not gonna lie to you: shit got Spinal-Tap-esque. In the end though, out of the chaos emerged order. Plus a couple of ice cold beers. And a pair of tasty tunes.
The session was way different than the one exactly a year before. Our expectations were higher. We felt like better players, like a tighter band. Our songwriting had become stronger. We looked THE TITS and smelled INCREDIBLE!
So in we went with our gear. We had bought a lot of new stuff. There were new guitars, new basses and some pretty badass new pedals. We brought a bunch of demos with us and made important decisions. Started laying down the tracks, changing a thing here and another there as we went along. Wrote killer riffs, played face-exploding solos and football chanted our way out of difficult arranging situations.
But then we started running out of time and everything turned harder. We were in a hurry to finish the job we had started. Compromises were made, bunches of hair were lost. And all of a sudden, we were aging. Fast. "What do we do now, what do we do now?"
Only the best goddamn job ever. We made it, baby! Just in time, STILL smelling incredible.
There are two new songs. We will release them soon.
While waiting, check out the gig shots on our media site. Thanks to Annina Mäkinen and Veikko Niemi for the photos! Beautiful stuff!
And another huge set of thank yous to Jonne Jauhiainen for the studio session!

Exciting times are ahead of us. We'll be returning to Soundfactory studios this weekend to record a couple of new jams. As I said, we have a lot of ideas and we've been doing some early demos to see which of the ideas have what it takes to become new Moistmaker classics. So far there's one dynamic duo that's ahead of others.
But that can change. There's enough time before the rec-button is hit for that to change many times. Still, we should decide quick 'cause as things are, we only have enough studio time to do two. Two out of gazillion. Just to scrape the surface:
Stun Gun, Merrygoround, Crop Circles, One Track Mind, Start Over, California, Ready To Drown In The Rain, Afterglow, Hey Sister, Stumbling, Missing, Borderline, "Captain Coke", "Trendy", "The Passenger", "Kings & Peppers", "Stone Zeppelin", "Oi For An Oi"...
Aaaand many more! So many songs, so little time.
We'll know more tomorrow. So soon! Can't wait!
The heat is on!

A stats update.
After twelve shows here's how many times each song has been played:
11 Kick Kelly, Swing Low 8 Stun Gun 7 Folding, Getting By, The Other Side 6 Crop Circles, Down Here, Bitchin' Switch 5 Satellites, Merrygoround 4 My Finest Hour, A Right Turn, Oidipus 3 One Track Mind, Revolution, Ground Me, Crackerman 2 Afterglow, Into The Light, Ready To Drown In The Rain 1 Borderline, Firecracker Baby, Save Me, Vasoline Hey Sister, Stumbling, Unnatural Disaster, Breakfall, Shoe That Fits, Miracle Drug, Revolution (The Beatles), Hey Joe, You Really Got Me, Where Did You Sleep Last Night
Number of original songs: 29. Number of cover songs: 6. Kick Kelly and Swing Low are currently leading the race but no song has been played at every show.
Pretty cool, eh? You gotta love them stats!
Axa / MM
What? Another one? We're on a roll!
Gigs are surprisingly hard to get. There's usually a lot of work with no reward whatsoever. And then you gotta do the work part all over again. And usually there will be no rewards whatsoever. We should totally score a booking agent.
After the Lepakkomies gig there briefly was a chance for another gig in Helsinki quite soon. Turned out the chance was fat as the Fatman from Jake and the Fatman. That's what usually happens. Mix-ups, setbacks, stuff like that. And then there are opportunities we can't cash in on for whatever reason.
This time there were good news right after the bad news. Our friends Tyyne Raunio invited us to join them for a night out in Kerava. They had gotten the gig and needed someone to fill the support slot. And that's what we did! We share the same rehearsal space with them guys so it's quite easy to do shows together. Just go in, take what you want, load up the van, drive for a little while and BANG! You're in Kerava. Soundcheck - check! Beer - check! Food - check! Everything was good. Tyyne dudes are awesome and their band is the SHIT. So it was a lot of fun. The club was cool too. They took really good care of us so thanks a bunch!
Our showtime was at 22:30. There was only a handful of people there but we played a good show, I think. Took Hey Sister for it's first night out and it felt pretty good. That's another new song in the bank!
Oh and a lot of thanks to our loyal fans for making the trip! Can't wait for the next show. But first, let's spend some quality studio time. More about that later!

Alright dudesbags. Let's see:
Lepakkomies. 2012. Our first show in fifteen months. FIFTEEN MONTHS!!
Now where did 2011 go? We did a lot of recording, wrote a lot of stuff but did not play a single show. Damn! Shame on us. Glad we came back for this one though 'cause it was probably our best show yet.
It was a long day. The distance between our rehearsal space and the club is about 600m so getting our gear and ourselves there wasn't too much trouble. Soundchecks though seemed to take forever and there was nothing to do but wait. Troubles with DI boxes and shit. Luckily the soundman was great and sorted out the problems. He did a great job behind the mixing console too. Every band that night sounded great!
The two other bands that took the stage before us were Krasiva and HeadHeartHands. Two cool bands, lotsa nice people and good stuff, too! Thanks a lot, guys!
We took the stage 'round midnight and boy did we rock! There was blood, there was sweat and even some tears. A bit of earth, a touch of wind and a lot of fire. And all those mamas and papas in the audience, just loving it! Thanks to everyone who came! It's always a blast to play for a club full of people!
Revolution Folding Getting By Ready To Drown In The Rain Stun Gun One Track Mind Merrygoround Crop Circles Satellites Into The Light -- Afterglow Kick Kelly
That's three new songs for y'all! Or four if we're counting Revolution. We did play it at Semifinal but the version that ended up on Moistmakermusic is way different. And better. Let's say four new ones, shall we.
Axa / MM
Yep. We're taking one step out of our comfort zone and into a club called Bilis.
In other words, it's a gig and you're all invited!
We'll paint the club red with our friends Tyyne Raunio starting from 22:30. And if you didn't know yet, those guys kick CROTCH! It'll be a total groin attack all over again so stop hesitating, climb aboard the Z-train (or R or H or whatevs) and come join the festivities!
How lucky can one guy be / I kissed her and she kicked me in the NARDS
Like a fellow once said / ain't that a kick in the NARDS
So yeah! The address is Käenkatu 2, 04230 Kerava. Tickets are 5€ apiece + coat check fee and the good times are a-rolling!
Axa / MM
Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude! We're playing Lepakkomies on Saturday, January 21. That's two weeks from now. Basically what that means is we're back in so many ways it's hard to even explain.
So put on your blue suede shoes and board the plane. Touch down in land of some awesome shit in the middle of some awesome shit.
I'm telling you: it's gonna be fan-tas-tes-ticu-laros! We will be joined by HeadHeartHands and Krasiva for a night of special something so get yourself there. Your friends, your relatives? Your A-game?
Tickets 4€ + 2,5€ for the dude that gets your coat. Showtimes TBA.

Well hello ladies! And fellows, listen closely:
After a lengthy break from updating, we're back!
Where were we and what the hell were we building in there?
Lately we have been quite busy sitting on the edges of our seats with our heads put together making plans.
We're thinking about heading back to studio early next year for another recording session and are currently trying to decide on the songs.
And there are a lot of songs. We've been writing like crazy all year long. Got a lot of new stuff and a LOT of ideas for more stuff so we're just have to sit down and write. But that's what we do and it's awesome.
In fact, I think I'll head for the rehearsal place right now to work on them tunes. Grab a couple of guitars and who knows - maybe something completely different as well. Something along the lines of a lap steel or a synthesizer or something. I dunno.
You'll just have to wait and see.
Axa / MM

Guten Tag everybody!
As some of you might know we spent some time at the awesome SoundFactory studios about a month ago.
The plan was to go there, bring the gear, spend the weekend, record the shit out of 'Folding' and 'One Track Mind' and come out with a winner in our hands and a smile on our faces.
Now that we finally have that kick-ass record in our hands and that big-ass smile on our faces I'll tell you how it really went down. So here's the inside scoop. The shebang, the whole shebang and nothing but the shebang:
Three days became four days, days turned into nights and before we knew it both of the songs in the original plan had been ditched to make way for 'Revolution' and 'Into The Light'.
Over the course of our four-day stint we did a lot of arranging and composing and a lot of singing and dancing. Did some playing too. And some bending, every once in a while.
It was at times hard and frustrating but mostly it was just plain fantastic. We had a great time!
Huge thanks to our friend Jonne who recorded and mixed the songs!
So now we have two brand new songs in the bank. Wanna hear them?
Axa / MM
A couple of weeks ago, we picked up an acoustic guitar, set up a few mikes and recorded the town red with some of our old songs. It was a lot of fun.
We ended up doing Flesh & Bone, Breakfall, Nighttime, Ready To Drown In The Rain, Sleepwalking In Slo Mo and Miracle Drug.
The sessions were a success and some of these songs turned out so good that we have to share them with you guys. Maybe all of them, who knows...
There's still some work to be done there but get ready for some acoustic action very soon.
Axa / MM
Show number ten. It ain't much but it's a good start.
We got this gig about two weeks before the showtime. There had been some cancellations and shit and after having actively harassed the club and the people there with numerous emails and phonecalls, they offered this sweet-ass friday-night slot for us and two other bands we had had in mind for a night out on the town about six months ago.
Neither of the two bands could make it, but we asked our friends The Frank Brothers and Keoma to join us and together we rocked the joint pretty goddamn hard. The club, being small, sleazy and awesome was just what the doctor ordered and playing there was just fantastic.
The crowd was loud enough to keep us going and the sound was beefy and punchy enough to please every beefy punch lover out there.
Great energy, great show and a room full of friends to enjoy it with. Thanks a bunch!

Before our Semifinal show on October 1st, we were interviewed by a friend of ours for her online rock music blog/magazine. And before this raises any questions, just to clarify, I'm not talking about "a friend of ours" in a mafia context. Not a "made person", just a friend of ours, the interviewer. The interview turned out mighty fine. I'll even provide the link for you guys to go and check that shit out. And before this raises any questions, just to clarify, I'm not saying it's shit. I'm saying it's THE SHIT!
The link for the interview is right there on the front site, just a click away. But first, have a click on this: http://www.rokkilehtiboogie.fi

Okay, folks. It's Karjurock time. This was our first ever summer festival gig. Let's blog!
It was a scorching hot saturday. We took an early start, loaded up the old truck and took off towards Uusikaupunki. Found the festival site after a couple of detours, signed in and relaxed for a while while the first band of the evening played their set.
We had plenty of time to set up our gear and tweak our sound to perfection after Rearwinter's set. Soundcheck turned out a success and the onstage sound was face-melting awesome. Thanks to the soundmen who were up to their tasks and really nice folks, too.
We took the stage at around 4PM, looking looking cool as hell and sounding totally mean. We were all set to take the leap of faith, a swan dive into the best night of our lives.
However, this wasn't it. These early showtimes just don't get you the summer festival kicks you're looking for. People were still hanging 'round their tents camping and having fun.
So in terms of attendance, this wasn't our best show. It was super cool, though. We had a lot of fun. The stage was big as a motherfucker and we had plenty of room to run around and dance and jump and go crazy. We should definitely score more gigs on stages like this. Maybe next summer.
After the show we enjoyed the offerings of the awesome backstage for quite a while before driving back to Uusikaupunki to have a good night's sleep in the hotel room for two people to which the five of us packed ourselves into. Hell yeah!
Thanks to the Karjurock people who were awesome, and everyone who came to see us!

About the new stuff.
Like I toldcha, we have a lot of songs coming up. A pile of diamonds in the rough just waiting for us to put in the finishing touch. Really, really good shit.
The last batch of six consisted of our newest demo-offering (Folding, Getting By & Satellites) and three other songs (Down Here, Stumbling, Crop Circles) that we may have to do again for reasons I won't bore you with.
On top of those we have Stun Gun and Merrygoround. Both fan favourites and important pieces of the puzzle that is our current live-set. Those will definitely end up on one of our demo EP's. Love those babies.
And then there are the new songs. One Track Mind, Revolution #69, Start Over & California. Hot damn, those songs. I'm super-excited about all of them. Every one of them is different from the last one and none of them is quite like anything we have ever done. The sound is of course still classic Moistmaker but there's something else there that we just can't wait to get out there and show you guys.
So, that's nine songs coming up. I really hope all of those bastards make the cut.
Axa / MM
A stats update.
After nine shows here's how many times each song has been played:
9 Kick Kelly, Swing Low 6 The Other Side, Bitchin' Switch 5 Stun Gun, Down Here 4 Getting By, Folding, My Finest Hour, A Right Turn 3 Crop Circles, Satellites, Merrygoround, Oidipus, Ground Me, Crackerman 2 Borderline, Firecracker Baby, Save Me, Vasoline 1 Stumbling, Unnatural Disaster, Breakfall, Shoe That Fits, Miracle Drug, Revolution, Hey Joe, You Really Got Me, Where Did You Sleep Last Night
Number of songs: 29. Number of cover songs: 6. Kick Kelly, and Swing Low are the only songs that have been played at every show.

Get ready for another show, mister! We are rocking Karjurock festival next Saturday (July 17). It's in Lokalahti near Uusikaupunki and it's going to be a blast! Can't wait!
Our showtime is at 15:45. It's bright and early, but not too bright and early to kick some ass 'cause kick some ass we will.
Tickets are 25€ (one-day ticket for Saturday) if bought in advance and 28€ if bought at the door.

This recap I almost forgot to write. Not that I wanted to forget it, it's just that it's been three whole months since our last show and I still haven't told you anything about it. Believe me - I wanted to do this sooner but I couldn't. 'Cause I almost forgot. But now I'm gonna. So let's:
So, On The Rocks on a Monday night. Not the finest night for a rock show but it has potential. We had the band chILL with us. They took the stage first and left the late-night spot for us, which was okay 'cause we don't really mind and our friends had the patience to stay and wait for us.
And the show was great! Lot's of energy. The stage was nice and big (compared to Club Liberté anyway) and all of us had a lot of room on stage to go nuts, which we did too! The on-stage sound was great and also the audience seemed to like what they heard. Or at least that's what they told us, all 40 of them (which actually was kinda good for a Monday night show). But here's the setlist. If you take a close look, you might find we threw in a new song. It's called Stumbling and it made it's live debut that night:

Dudes & Dudettes,
Again, it's been ages. Sorry for the lack of updates. To make up for the lost couple of months none of us will ever be able to get back, here's an update:
Summers have always been tough on our band-activities. Probably because of all the sun and the moon and the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees. And the heat. And the sweat. And the moist, of course.
We had that show at On The Rocks in April and it was great, but i'll tell you more about that later. After that we've mostly been writing new stuff and conjuring up our plans for world domination. And then came the summer holidays. Some of us went to Spain, some had to stay home and study.
But now we're back and again we have a lot of new stuff coming up. Probably 6-8 all new songs that all rock ass and are just dying to get recorded and end up on the top of a big ole pile of demo CDs in the office of some record company guy. But be prepared. You'll get to hear them too, 'cause we'll post them on our website once the time is ripe.
Did I say ripe? I think I did.
Axa / MM
Oh, and did I not mention we have a show coming up? A SHOW! COMING UP!
Yep! It's on monday, April 12 at On The Rocks with chILL.
Come one, come all! Bring everyone and their brother!

The best things in life often come in threes:
Sex, drugs & rock n' roll.
Bacon, lettuce & tomato.
Jaromir Jagr, Mario Lemieux & Ron Francis.
Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin & Sammy Davis jr.
Blood, Sweat & Tears.
This season however papa's got a brand new bag. And inside that bag is a big bad bunch. A trio so mean it will not only kick your ass but also rip you a new one.

Yes, I'm a lazy bastard. The show was six weeks ago. Six weeks and no blog makes Jack a dull boy. Who's Jack? Who cares.
So, Club Liberté #5. Our first show with Juhani. How was it?
I'll tell you how it was: It was fan-friggin-tastic!
Again, the place was packed. Everybody came, which was awesome. Ghostsonics and The Blanko played great shows and so did we, I think. We rocked the heck out of our old Moistmaker classics but also threw in three new songs, Crop Circles, Satellites and Merrygoround. All of the new songs were very well received as was the entire performance. The whole night was a success!
The shows just keep getting better and better! Thanks to everyone who came and thanks Club Liberté for having us once again!
See you at our next show!

More live dates will be announced soon, so watch this space.
2010, folks! It's gonna be MOIST! It's gonna be so moist you'll be searching for towels, you'll be searching for handkerchiefs, you'll be searching for anything to dry with. Anything. And when it get's to a point where all the towels and handkerchiefs in the world aren't enough you'll be saying "goddamn it's moist, here in 2010". And that's where we enter the scene. And boy will we enter the scene or what? Oh boy we will. And we're gonna moist 'til we can't moist no more. And if you cry out, we're gonna push it, push it some more.
Yeah. So here's our new website. It's cool as a cucumber. Fit as a fiddle. Busy as a beaver. From now on, this is where you'll find all the coolest, most moist makin' pieces of information. Starting now. Gigs are being booked as we speak, new songs are on their way. We have recorded six brand new songs and first batch of three will be out soon. The shit is about to hit the fan. And that is some good shit. For all of you awesome fans out there.
Be cool, stay in school,

Oh yeah ladies! Oh yeah gentlemen!
It's been a long time since I blog and rolled. And it's been a while since our last show. That's about to change soon.
In the meanwhile, let's take a trip down memory lane, all the way back to last January when we rocked Club Liberté for god knows how manyeth time. And did quite a job, too.
The setting was perfect:
Friday night, a bottle of nice pinot noir, food cookin' on the old stove. End of January, what a magical time to live, to breath, to feel alive. Christmas gone by, next one on it's way. Candles burning, brand new soft sheets on the bed and lots of fluffy, fluffy pillows. Rose petals everywhere, a piece of gourmet belgian chocolate melting in your mouth, nice cuppa joe after a perfect dinner. Granma's old tube radio all cranked up, belting out one wintertime classic after another. Feelin' great.
Now exactly how fluffy were those pillows, someone asks. That's when you wake up. WAY too fluffy for any of this to be true. And the wine? Nah. It was beer.
The show however was awesome. Three bands. Mandrakes and Waterloo co-rockin' the joint with us. Place was packed and everyone was feeling good. It was an absolute blast. Close to if not our best show to date. Lots of energy. A couple of new songs played live for the first time. This was also a farewell performance for our drummer Hege who left Moistmaker soon after. It was a good one.

We took awesome and made it better. This time we won't just be kicking your ass with out music but your nards too. NARDS!
It's really that good.
Oh, and we have a new drummer now. His name is Juhani and he's actually the one executing the whole butt-kicking extravaganza. And don't forget the nards.
